6 day seakayak trip with guide around Lofoten Island

Trip description:

At 10:00 (10:00 am) on day 1 we meet and after introductions we will look at the maps and locate the various trips and treks we can enjoy during our adventure together.

After we have checked out that everybody has the personal gear they need for the trip we will help you become familiar with the kayaks and equipment. For participants with little or no paddling experience we’ll cover the basics of safe and fun sea kayaking.

Our way of doing trips is having a rest every at least every 2 hour with snack or food during the day. In the afternoon we will arrive at the camp, you put up your tents and make yourself and the gear ready for the night. Then you make your evening meal and we can have a meal togeather.

Exploring the archipelago with its birdlife, seals, porpoises and the od otters is our general plan. We try to find OK camps and, if you are up to it we can do an afternoon nice hike up a hil or mountain that gives us a magnificent view. We have to refill water for drinking and making food during the day. The plan is to circumnavigate our island if weather permits this.

General Information:

Travel Insurance: We recommend that you protect yourself from unforeseen circumstances while travelling. An insurance plan should protect you in the event that you have to cancel your trip for a variety of reasons. It should cover you for everything from your cancellation to Trip Interruption, Travel Delay, Lost, Stolen or Damaged Luggage, Baggage Delay, Medical Expenses, Emergency Medical Transportation and more. Find a plan that is ideally suited for adventure travel.

Weather: The coastal weather of Arctic Norway can bring strong winds, rain even snow. Count on clouds and drizzle for at least half the time. Sunny days will be a welcome exception. Here the average temperatures range between the low 5°C to 30°C. At times, the elements can prohibit us from paddling, but not from enjoying these spectacular places. Good rain gear and footwear will also enable us to explore the mountains, coast and villages by foot. One day can be warm and sunny with the next being windy and drizzly.

Currency: Norway has its own currency; NOK. Exchanges can be made at Oslo airport, train stations, The Post and some hotels. If you have no cash in NOK; credit or debit cards can be used most places.

Language: English is Norway's second language and is almost spoken fluently throughout. Our staff is bilingual and speaks English/German as well as Norwegian.

Last minute assistance: If you need assistance shortly before departure or while travelling to Norway, you may call the following number for Lofoten Aktiv at +47 9923 1100. Please leave your name, a message and a number where we can reach you.

We are looking forward to our adventure together!
